Welcome to my web site!
This site is dedicated to members of my family, all of whom have South Carolina roots.
I have been working on family histories and family trees for the last eleven or so years.
It is a lot of work, but it is also a lot of fun. Everyone should know where their tree has it's roots.
Hopefully this site will be a place that I can connect with cousins known and unknown.
UPDATE: WOLO ABC television in Columbia does a bi-weekly series titled 'Hidden Columbia' and covers little known facts about the Capital City. Hosted by Anderson Burns, there have been several stories on cemeteries in the Columbia area that have fallen into disrepair. Hidden Columbia's Facebook page has all the videos posted. Visit, watch, and tell Andy how much you appreciate his efforts! Between his coverage and the Chicora Foundation, the City has cleaned the 'Lower Cemetery' of brush, trees, kudzu, and the homeless camps. You can see the cemetery now below Randolph and Elmwood Cemeteries from the 126 bridge between Randolph and the Columbia Canal.
UPDATE: Added 'Death Certificate' pages to family tabs. Included some scans of certificates I have found so far.
UPDATE: I have updated the Mill Culture page with some background information on the mill villages of Newberry, SC.
UPDATE: I have added a page for will indexes, photos and history of the William Baker House, a blog, and some document pages this month.
UPDATE: I consider this site a success since I have been able to connect with cousins both near and far. I have heard from descendants from nearly all my branches. Many cousins have provided information and photos, as well as records. As I get them scanned in, I add them to the site. Thanks to you all and keep it coming! The more the merrier!. Any branches that want their reunion dates and locations listed, email me and I will gladly post them on the reunion page.
