I Alsa Fuller of the county and state aforesaid being of a diminished age
and knowing that I must surely leave this world deems it right and proper as it
respects thyself and family that I should make a disposition of the property
with which a kind providence has blessed me I therefore make this my last will
and testament hereby revoking and annulling all others heretofore made by me. Item
1stI desire and direct that my body buried in a decent and Christian
like manner suitable to my circumstances and condition. My soul I trust shall be
returned to the God who gave it and I hope for salvation through the blessed
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed and as I humbly
trust enjoyed for fifty or more years Item
2nd I devise and direct they all my just debts be paid without delay
by executor hereinafter named as there is no cause for delay. Item
3rd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy A Fuller with whom I
have lived in the strictest quiet and love for thirty odd years. Lot of land on
which I new reside No 237 in the eleventh District of originally Troup now
county aforesaid as well as state. Containing two hundred and two and one half
acres with all the rights members and ___?_
__?__ there to or in any wise belonging, free from the control or
management of any one but herself for and during her natural life and after her
death to be sold to the highest buffer and the net proceeds divided equally
between all my children there in life or the child or children o any that may be
___ have died. Item
4th I devise and direct that all my perishable property of whatever
nature (with the exception of any notes on account or demands of any nature that
I may have against any of my children at my death) As I particularly decree and
wish that the said demand be cancelled and destroyed to be sold to the highest
bidder and the proceeds arising there from to be equally divided between all my
children there in life or the child or children of any that may have died and my
wife Nancy A Fuller. Item
5thI devise and direct my executors hereinafter named to have my
farming, that is my present crop of every description, to be carried on by them
without interruption and after being matured gathered and sold in all auspices
of same said in full then and in that event should there be surplus to be
divided equally between my wife Nancy and all my children here in life or the
child or children of any that may have died. Item
6th I devise and direct my executors hereinafter named sell to the
highest bidder all the balance of my real estate it consists in part of lots of
land No.s213, 245,256, and 223 and the net proceeds to be equally divided
between all of my children there in life or the child or children of any that
may have died. Item
7thThe property I have heretofore giving in this my last will and
testament to my daughter Sarah A. C. McGarhee and children. My desire and wish
particularly is that the same shall be free from the debts or control of her
present or future husband. Item
8thThe property I have heretofore given in this my last will and
testament to my son Perry W. Fuller. My desire and wish is that the same be held
in trust by my son Jones C. Fuller for the benefit and size of said Perry W.
Fuller and family during the said Perry W.’s natural life and at his death be
divided equally between all of his children there in life or child or children
of any that may have died. Item
9thI devise and direct that in the event of My grandson Jones C.
Grant (now an inmate of my family) should stay with my wife Nancy S for and
during the term of two years must__?__ and in the meantime ____?__ and assist in
cultivating the farm and take care of his grandmother. Then and in that event my
desire and wish is that he should have for services rendered fifty dollars in
cash with schooling, clothing and board free for said two years. Item
10thI give and bequeath to Sic McLaughlin a man of color the house
and one acre of land surrounding the same he now lives in for and during his
natural life. Item
11thI constitute and appoint my son Jones C. Fuller and my son in law
John M. Todd executors to this my last will and testament
Alsey Fuller Signed sealed declared and published by
Alsey Fuller as his last will and testament in the presence of the subscribers
who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said testator and of each
other this 21st of May 1879
